Wholesale wedding dresses: how to choose a supplier for your salon

Wholesale wedding dresses: how to choose a supplier for your salon

Choosing a wholesale supplier decides what hangs on your rail for several seasons. Below are nine questions worth asking any wedding dress manufacturer, including us. Where a question touches our own terms, the full answer is on the partnership page.

In short

Nine questions help you compare wedding dress suppliers: who sews the dresses, what a first order looks like, which sizes are possible, how long production takes and what happens if a dress has a defect.

Nine questions to ask a wedding dress supplier

1. How long have you been making dresses?

Ask when the company was founded and how long its current lines have been in production. Intertex was founded in 2003.

2. Do you sew the dresses yourselves?

A manufacturer that sews its own dresses can pass your requests straight to the people who make them. We sew ours in-house, in Voloka near Chernivtsi.

3. What does a first order look like?

Ask how many pieces a first order needs and how the models can be combined. Our first-order terms are on the partnership page.

4. Who will you deal with?

Ask who will answer your questions and confirm your orders. At Intertex, your manager confirms the models and terms for your salon.

5. Which sizes and changes are possible?

Ask about standard sizes, plus sizes, length and sleeve changes and made-to-measure. Our dresses are made in standard women’s sizes, and most models can also be made in plus sizes. Length and sleeves can be adjusted, and a dress can be made to measure; the manager confirms the options for each model.

6. What is each model made of?

Ask for the fabrics and construction of every model you consider: lace, satin, crepe or mikado; boning, cups and the closure. A model with a clear description is easier to fit and easier to explain to a bride.

7. How long does production take?

Ask for the standard lead time and what can change it. (Our answer, from the partnership terms: standard production lead time is approximately 21 business days and may vary depending on current production workload.)

8. What will you get to present the dress?

Ask which photos and videos you can use in your salon and online, and on what terms. Your manager will tell you what is possible for the models you choose.

9. What happens if a dress has a defect?

Ask how a defect is reported and how long you have. (Our answer, from the partnership terms: if a dress has a defect, the salon lets us know within 10 days of receiving the order.)
